Arterial Network would like to announce the Panel of Experts for the ARTS EDUCATION PRACTICES & POLICIES IN AFRICA project. Congratulations to the following experts:

7. Vicensia Shule - Tanzania (Film)
8. Wahab Ademola Azeez –  Nigeria  ( Education For Arts)

The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), Arterial Network (AN), the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University), the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA): African Chapter and the Goethe-Institut have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a statement of intent to work together, and to provide a framework within which the project will be implemented.
This African research and policy-formulation project aims to:- 
•    Research the current state of arts education (primary, secondary, tertiary and non-formal) in Africa
•    Research the current state of arts education policies and the nature of their implementation
•    evaluate these policies and their implementation against normative international and African policy documents on arts education
•    evaluate the policies against current arts Education practices on the continent in the formal and non-formal sector
•    devise generic arts education policy guidelines and strategies for adaptation and implementation by African countries depending on their respective conditions.

The Panel of Experts will be at the helm of an initiative which seeks to include the voice of civil society in the development of policies which guide arts education in all African countries.
