Arterial Network requires a suitably skilled and experienced person to head the secretariat of Arterial Network. The Secretary-General is responsible for driving the strategic vision of the Network, implementing the decisions of the Steering Committee and managing the Network on a day-to-day basis. Arterial Network is a Pan-African network of artists, arts organisations and activists engaged in capacity building, advocacy, research, cultural policy, information dissemination, workshops, conferences, publication of reports and best practice toolkits, all geared towards growing and strengthening the cultural and creative sectors in Africa, and making a contribution to democracy, human rights and development on this continent. With its continental secretariat in Cape Town, Arterial Network has official affiliates in 22 countries and wide representation in other parts of Africa. Visit www.arterialnetwork.org
The successful applicant will have excellent organisational expertise, outstanding leadership qualities, above average knowledge of international cultural policies, excellent international networks, resource management and sound knowledge of Arterial Network.
Interested applicants, limited to Africans living on the continent or in the diaspora, should submit a letter of application motivating her/his suitability for the position, a Curriculum Vitae detailing experience and skills and three contactable referees, of which at least one should be a member of Arterial Network.
Remuneration: Total Cost to Company starting at ZAR587,511 per annum, and subject to skills and experience. All statutory deductions as per South African law are applicable.
