"How to live in a space of online culture?"
Call for projects realized with digital media / electronic / medial - and those that offer a critical reflection on contemporary culture, increasingly dependent on technologies and digital spaces.
Intended for all African or non-African digital artist living in Africa, over 18 years of age.
This African prize is a support system for digital creation, it offers award-winning artists the opportunity to realize their project of creation in the international center "Plataforma Bogotá", an interactive laboratory of art, science and technology based in Bogotá-Colombia, Offering him the opportunity to carry out his project of creation in a collaborative space and surrounded by an experienced andmultidisciplinary team.
Designed as a laboratory-workshop, the creative residency is paired with a series of events around the artist and his project - workshops with international artists, meetings, conferences - enabling him to widen his horizon, explore new forms of work and expand his network internationally.
At the end of the residency, a first presentation of the work will be organized for the local audience in the headquarters of the creative center. Subsequently, this work as well as the finalist works selected by the Jury under file, will be included in the annual program of exhibitions of Africa Art Box developed in Africa and elsewhere.
Africa Art Box is the continuation of an approach initiated by TRIAS CULTURE since 2008 in Senegal to promote digital creation and integration of new media in the professional career of cultural actors in Senegal and Africa.
Several workshops offered to artists allowed to experiment with media and various technologies: light sensors, bending, rangefinder, ultrasound, etc., as well as real-time capture of data, video camera in different formats (HD, camera Video surveillance, mobile phone).
Through this research and experimentation, new spaces for digital creation and collaborative and interdisciplinary interaction have been made possible. To capitalize on its achievements TRIAS CULTURE considers it necessary to create a space of convergence around a perennial event and to assist artists in the construction of an artistic career more in consonance with their era.
