Institut Français Morocco : Artistic residencies programme

Previous Opportunity

Deadline: 15 July 2018

The program of artistic residencies of the French Institute of Morocco (IfM) initiated in 2012 continues with the 7th call to applications for year 2019.

This program covers the sites of Agadir, Casablanca, El Jadida, Essaouira, Fez, Kenitra, Meknes, Oujda, Tangier and Tetouan and can accommodate twenty residences each year. Intended for artists from French-speaking countries and open to all artistic disciplines, this program aims to encourage contemporary creation and cultural cooperation between France and Morocco to create a special meeting with local cultural actors and IfM audiences through renditions and artistic workshops.

Candidates must:

  • Be engaged in professional life
  • Come from a French-speaking country
  • Provide proofs of previous work
  • Free themselves from their professional activities during the entire period of their stay
  • No age limit is imposed.

A first selection of the applications is made by a professional jury. The projects are then subject to a second selection by the sites requested to ensure that they are appropriate to the local context. Following the deliberation, the results are then communicated to the candidates by mail for accepted files, by email for refusals.

The French Institute of Morocco takes care of the transport (base of 350 €) as well as the accommodation throughout the duration of the residence.
