17 new projects get funding from the IFCDNEWS

The Intergovernmental Committee approved 17 projects to be implemented in 17 developing countries for a total of US$1.3 million in funding. Among the 17 projects, 8 are from Africa. Below are the organisations:

•    BAL’LAME, Niger
•    Culture Fund of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe
•    Groupe 30 Afrique, Senegal
•    Harlequin Foundation, South Africa
•    Malawi National Commission for UNESCO, Malawi
•    Ministry of Arts and Culture, Togo
•    Mozambique National Commission for UNESCO, Mozambique
•    Pastoralist Development Network of Kenya, Kenya


Projects cover a wide range of activities – from capacity-building, education and training to policy analysis and development, as well as entrepreneurship support and cultural industries consolidation.

The IFCD is unique in that a majority of its funds go to support the work of non-governmental organizations working locally in the field of cultural policy and cultural industries.
