On the 13th of October 2017, the Congolese Cultural Centre held a classical music concert at the Rotonde des Arts in Abidjan. With the sponsorship of Arterial Network, the recital has been hailed as a big success by members of the Ivorian public who attended the special event.
Nicholas Serge Ewey (director of the Congolese cultural center of Abidjan and pianist) and his wife, Monique Ewey (singer) impressed the audience with their vast repertoire. The couple was accompanied by three musicians trained at the Institut national supérieur des arts et de l'action culturelle (INSAAC), specifically a violinist, a xylophonist (balafon) and a saxophonist.
The event took place under the auspices of "Afterwork," a new initiative of the Rotonde des Arts. This initiative is under construction, or in an experimental phase, according to Professor Yacouba Konaté, the general director of Masa and director of the Rotonde des Arts.
