The Arterial Network gallery hosted an art exhibit featuring Seychelles artists whose work have taken inspiration from the theme 'vannswet'. The exhibition was officially opened during a brief ceremony at the gallery at Eden Plaza.
The collaborative exhibition dubbed ‘Vannswet’, the Creole word for the South-East Monsoon was opened to the public for free until July 27 and featured more than 15 multi-media artworks including paintings, sculptures, and for the first time ever, poetry.
According to Christine Harter, the exhibition's curator, the theme was chosen because it was one of the interesting aspects that best represented the country and which everybody could relate to. Also, Arterial Network decided to exhibit poetry for the very first time because the network is actively seeking to engage artists from other disciplines.
The vannsmet exhibition showcased works by well known artists Charles Dodo, Nigel Henri and Egbert Marday along with new and upcoming ones such as Amy Wright.
